Bio

My name is Sidney Kelley. I am an Analyst and Writer, specializing in SEO strategy and analysis, and business and technology content writing.

I have over 45 years’ experience in tax, accounting, and computer programming, and hold a Masters in Business from Cal Poly Pomona and CPA 6409 (inactive) from WA State.

I self-describe as a Computer-Nerd and Accounting-Geek. Compulsive-Organizer would be my Project-Management “Super-Power”.

Intuition and Experience work miracles, but Success favors the Organized.

Looking back at my Career

As Property Tax Collector for Alaska’s North Slope Borough (NSB), I worked closely with the Law Department to resolve a 13-year backlog of tax cases. Using Crystal Reports and SQL VIEWs, I wrote a billing system. And I collected large amounts of money for NSB.
As an employee and contractor for affiliates of Bank of America (Merrill Lynch, Seafirst Bank, Security Pacific, Rainier Bank) and CenturyLink (Quest, US West), I took on projects that no one else would or could do: financial reports and distributed system software.
Analytic reports can be a lot of fun. Transcribing and cross-footing data onto graph paper with a pencil and 10-key is not fun. So I learned computers, working as a Programmer-Analyst/Software-Engineer.
Before that, I was hired by the IRS because “It is easier to teach accounting to Liberal Arts Majors than People Skills to Accountants.” So, I passed the CPA exam (WA State 6409, inactive.)

I have solved a lot of problems, written a lot of emails, and am totally comfortable with figuring things out. I look forward to working with you.

Education

I hold a Master’s in Business from Cal Poly Pomona, a Bachelor of Arts in English from San Diego State U., and Washington State CPA 6409 (inactive).
Recent continuing education includes SmartBlogger.com‘s SEO Strategy and Content Marketing Certification, and AWAI.com‘s Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Content Writing.
Recent self-studies include grant-writing and WordPress programming.
My understanding of SEO comes from reading Marcus Sheridan’s They Ask, You Answer: every question clients ask should be answered on your website.
I am a member of the American Mensa Society.
